Founded in 1989 by Sensei Milan Ilic, Aston Jitsu club is based at Aston University. This places the club not only in the heart of the UK but also in the heart of Birmingham. Aston Jitsu is a member of The Jitsu Foundation. The Jitsu Foundation is the largest single body of Jiu Jitsu clubs in the UK.

The club which is located in the Birmingham city centre has around 30 core members, but with strong links to other the Jitsu Foundation clubs in the region. You would be forgiven for thinking there were many more. Since 1999 the club has been taught and lead by Sensei Eric Lau, who has ensured that the club continues its tradition of both training and playing hard. Training takes place in a safe environment with a friendly atmosphere that encourages everyone, male and female, novice to senior grade, who steps into our dojo to learn, at a pace that suits them. The success of this club can easily be judged not only by the quality of teaching on the mat but also by the number of senior grades and instructors it has produced in the past five years.
